Headaches and Migraines

Wink News: Street closures in Collier County are causing confusion and headaches. A major street in Collier County has been closed for the safety of people. Fourth Avenue South will be closed by the City of Naples through December in order to complete a $20,000,000 renovation of the Naples Players Theater. WINK News spoke with people on Monday night who said that closing the road would be a problem for them and the businesses along the route. “I don’t look forward to that,” Connie Collis said, a Naples resident. The Naples Players and City of Naples announced that Fourth Ave would be closed to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians during the Naples Players renovation project. This makes Connie Collis a 15-year resident frustrated. Collis said, “It’s not great because we really enjoy parking at the Trulux valet parking when we come downtown. And now it’s been blocked, and they told us that it will be blocked next season.” Cilia Podley said that not only would the closure be a hassle for some in terms of parking, but she also saw a decline in business since the sign was put up. Podley noticed that there were also unfamiliar cars parked on the side of building. “We’ve seen a slight slowdown in business and I’ve noticed that parking is on our side of Fifth Avenue to get there,” Podley said. Podley hopes that people will find a solution to get to the restaurant, as the closure is expected last for several months. Podley said, “We try to be as positive as possible and hope that people find other places to drive or park and come to us.” The road will be closed until December, but the Naples Players have said that they are working with the city in order to open it during special events or high-traffic days like the 4th of July as long as the conditions are safe. If you’re driving to or from the area, you may want to consider an alternate route.
