Whitemoney and Maria sparked conversations on social media after long arguing around the house over a statement from Whitemoney.

According to clips on Instagram, Whitemoney claimed he grew his hair to 18 inches once in two years, which Maria immediately exposed.

Maria claimed that it was impossible for anyone to grow hair that long without dietary supplements within this time.

Efforts by the other roommates to get Maria to withdraw Whitemoney’s case proved unsuccessful as she stood firm.

What are the best creams for back pain?

When aches and pains become an obstacle to living a fulfilling life, you should consider applying a pain cream gel. If applied directly to the skin, ultra strength creams reduce inflammation and minor pains temporarily as a natural pain reliever.

Different types of pain relievers are needed for different conditions, according to dermatologists. Others are intended for open wounds such as cuts and scrapes; some reduce inflammation, while others are suitable for reducing swelling.

Choosing the Best Topical Pain Relief Creams

Active Ingredients

The active ingredients used in different pain creams differ. Ensure that the cream you choose is suitable for your specific type of pain. It would be best if you also were cautious with salicylate or lidocaine-based creams because it is possible to overdose on them.

Lidocaine or diclofenac contains NSAIDs, which are substances that reduces inflammation can provide relief in your discomfort. In addition to these ingredients, there are others that provide a distraction:

Cooling Sensation: Camphor, Menthol, Methyl salicylate

Warming Sensation: Capsaicin

Depending on the type of pain relief you want, all of these methods can be effective.

Method of Delivery

Patches, sprays, and creams all produce pain relief through their active ingredients, but some deliver them differently in different parts of the body. Using a cream or gel on the hands, elbows, or knees that move a lot is best. Meanwhile, patches will stay put and provide constant pain relief in areas such as your neck, shoulders, and back. It might be easier to use a spray since it is less messy.

Consult Your Doctor About Combining Treatments

The solution for pain can be as simple as a pain cream or gel. However, if that’s not enough, discuss with your provider how you can make your topical treatment more potent.

Effective treatment for acute pain can frequently consist of a combination of topical and systemic medication, such as acetaminophen or NSAIDs.

The gel may be applied four times per day without possible side effects. Although it is a great pain relief for people with arthritis, pain relief isn’t immediate, so you may have to wait a bit for effect to take in.

Even with its moisturizing properties, mineral oil and propylene glycol also provide soothing effects without leaving a greasy residue.

Pros

  • An ideal product for people who have arthritis
  • Pain is relieved by diclofenac sodium
  • The skin is cooled with isopropyl alcohol

Neosporin  with Dual Action Antibiotic Properties

Neosporin is one of the few companies that combine a pain reliever and an antibiotic ointment in one product. Itching is relieved by Pramoxine hydrochloride, and irritation is soothed with Neosporin, an anti-bacterial you’ve probably used before. Just as Neosporin soothes minor cuts, it’s now combined with the itch-relieving Pramoxine hydrochloride.

This cream is not only designed to soothe aches and pains but is also safe to use on open wounds. It is still recommended that people with sensitive skin exercise caution, as they might experience discomfort.

Pros

  • Dual-purpose product
  • Effective
  • Easy to apply

Safety Tips

It is generally considered safe to use over-the-counter pain creams. Although all medications should be taken with precaution, this one is no exception.

1. Use Pain Relievers on a Short-term Basis

Pain reliever topicals are typically taken for no longer than a week.

2. Be Aware of Possible Side Effects

Stop using a cream if you notice:

  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Rash
  • Other symptoms and signs of irritation

3. Avoid Herbs and/or Unproven Ingredients

Make sure that the topicals you use contain ingredients that are safe and effective. The use of “all-natural products” that offer a promised “natural pain relief” should be avoided. The effects of these products are often unstudied, and a number of side effects are not documented.

4. Consult Your Doctor if You Suffer From Chronic Pain

If topical treatment does not work or the pain gets worse, contact your provider. Prescription cream may be needed to kick things up a notch.

Takeaway

Pharmacology has made way for topical drugs to give immediate relief for some diseases and disorders or merely small inconveniences like back pain. Although medicine is the ultimatum, there’s nothing wrong with seeking alternatives like a liniment for your back pain.

Are you feeling any pain in any part of your body? Try some of the best pain relief creams in the list above! Your pain management can be as easy as applying topical analgesics with extra strength pain relieving properties.

FAQs About Pain Creams

How Do Pain Reliever Creams Work?

Creams that relieve pain usually work according to one of four different mechanisms. Arnica is a soothing ingredient used in creams to reduce swelling due to inflammation. While anti-irritating creams rely on ingredients such as menthol and camphor to keep the skin cool.

Trolamine salicylate, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is used in some creams to block the enzyme that causes inflammation. Creams that contain max strength lidocaine numb the skin.

During Pregnancy, Can I Apply Analgesic Creams?

Lidocaine-powered pain relief topicals can be used safely, providing you follow the instructions on the package.

The safety of camphor use during pregnancy has yet to be confirmed by research, so if you’re pregnant, it’s best to steer clear of creams containing the substance.

Menthol is not proven to be safe during pregnancy, but the risk is relatively low when a cream contains a low concentration of menthol. It is recommended that you consult your doctor prior to using a cream with maximum strength camphor and menthol.

It is difficult to safely consume arnica orally while pregnant, but it is generally safe to apply arnica gel topically.

You should consult your doctor if you have any concerns about the use of these types of muscle pain relief .

The third trimester may be the worst time to use NAID-based creams. The active ingredient of these products, methyl salicylate, infiltrates the body via the skin and can have adverse effects on the baby and cause problems during birth.

Some areas that pain relieving gel can help:

  • knee pain
  • foot pain
  • tennis elbow
  • muscles and joints

A fascinating film follows two men desperately in need of a bond

0

Tsai Ming-liang exists in a strange position within the cinephile consciousness. As one of the greatest Taiwanese directors and a leading practitioner of slow cinema, his films share distinctive traits – long, static long-term shots, the frequent presence of rain or floods, a patient eye fixed on a decaying ultra-modern Taipei – that are so deeply imprinted that fixation on them can obscure his other interests. While some of his films have been international hits (particularly Goodbye, Dragon Inn from 2003), many others are underrated, lost in the whims of bad DVDs and extremely limited circulation. The viewers often prefer his aesthetic unity over the narrative unity of his films. Because Tsai is one of the most teleological directors and presents a film-by-film procession that focuses on his muse Lee Kang-sheng, who has appeared in all of his feature films since his 1991 debut, Rebels of the Neon God. This cinematic relationship finds fascinating new twists in Tsai’s latest Film Days.

Of days

Understanding Lee’s role is vital, and not just because his distinctive, hesitant movement and speech is a template for all of Tsai’s actors. Tsai is openly gay, and the backbone of his films is a kind of unfulfilled longing for Lee, who is straight but often plays queer characters. Their collaboration is tortured by this relationship, leading to narratives from outsiders who yearn for meaning and community in a world that is changing before their very eyes. (The 2006 title of I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone makes this clear.) Crucial for this is the presence of Lee and other recurring actors such as Chen Shiang-chyi, Miao Tien, and Yang Kuei-mei. In these films he plays more or less the same character who was originally called Xiaokang, but ultimately only Kang (xiao is Chinese for “small”).

While it’s not entirely accurate to view all of Tsai’s work as a single ongoing narrative, it feels like his oeuvre led straight to Stray Dogs of 2013, especially his tour de force ending. It is no surprise that he then announced that he would no longer make feature films. While continuing to create short and medium-length works in fiction, documentary, and even galleries, he kept that promise until Days, which appears to be an exciting new chapter in his career.

Of days

Days, one of Tsai’s least pared down, direct and moving works, was created under unusual circumstances that began a few years ago. Lee suffered from severe neck pain (which, oddly enough, was due to Xiaokang’s suffering in The River (1997)) and Tsai traveled with him to film his intensive acupuncture treatments. At the same time, Tsai Anong met Houngheuangsy, a Laotian immigrant in Bangkok, and began filming his daily routine, especially cooking. This resulted in Days, which crosses between these two strands in its first half. Although the footage was shot without a specific concept, it is as brilliant as any of Tsai’s other films in which Lee and Anong are patiently watched in their day-to-day business. There is some stylistic variation here, including a hand-held scene of Lee wandering the crowded streets of Taipei, but the camera is largely motionless. It captures the reflection of the sunset on a glass building as a cat creeps inside, or contrasts the aging Lee, all pain and weathered features, with the youthful Anong, as alluring and attractive as Lee in his early collaboration with Tsai.

Halfway through, this imagination suddenly tips over when Kang and Anong meet in a hotel for an erotic massage. The effect is powerful and adorable when you see these men trapped in such intimacy (whether transactional or not) over a period of about half an hour that is conveyed in about five shots. The summing up effect of Days, especially the long, fading finale in which the characters resume their daily lives, is just as melancholy and powerful as in Tsai’s other films. But there’s something new here: an element of fulfillment, the belief in a deep, life-changing connection – even if it’s just for a single night.

Days opens in selected theaters on August 13th.

The competition raises millions of dollars annually for wetland and wildlife conservation through the sale of $ 25 duck-themed postage stamps.

Instagram temporarily removed the picture with a nursing nipple.

International Youth Day: Why Should Young People Care About Their Health?

0

A thirty minute brisk walk is sometimes all it takes. (Photo source: PTI)

From Shweta Mahadik

International Youth Day: How often do you watch your favorite show on Netflix until 3 or 4 a.m.? Do you skip meals, especially breakfast, because you’re too busy with work or late for online classes?

When we are young we think that our body is invincible. As a result, we abuse our health without realizing the consequences that lie ahead. Studies have shown that health deteriorates from the age of 27. Some of the most common unhealthy habits among teenagers and young adults these days are:

Skipping meals – 1 in 5 young adults and even teenagers skip a meal during the day. This lowers the body’s metabolic rate and blood sugar. In the long run, you can even develop multiple stomach problems, stomach ulcers, etc.

Caffeine addiction – Excessive intake of caffeine is harmful to health; it dehydrates the body and even worsens an anxiety. It is definitely not recommended for young minds hanging out in coffee shops.

Lose sleep – Insufficient sleep is one of the factors that contribute to mental disorders. Our bodies are not designed to function 24 hours a day. A lack of adequate sleep makes it difficult for a person to focus and increases irritation and impulsiveness. Without sleep, our brains are unable to produce more brain tissue, which hinders our growth and general development.

No exercise – With the pandemic, a lot of young adults are hanging out at the screens. Spending long hours with little or no exercise, which eventually leads to fatty liver disease, indigestion, type 2 diabetes, heart problems, obesity, back and neck pain, etc.

International Youth Day: How to keep diseases of civilization at bay

Eat regularly & healthy: Our body needs to receive all of the essential macro and micronutrients in order to develop. However, you should eat frequently in smaller quantities. Avoid junk food and regular alcohol consumption. These make your liver prone to irreversible conditions like cirrhosis. Ideally, your diet should include leafy greens, protein, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, fruits, etc.

Exercise: A thirty minute brisk walk is sometimes all it takes. Even if you are overwhelmed with work and schoolwork, set aside half an hour for daily physical activities.

Sufficient sleep: A teenager needs 10 hours of sleep for good development and at least 8 hours a day for young adults. An adequate sleep cycle helps us think, think, and work better.

Take care of your mental and physical health: Several studies have suggested that Millennials and Generation Z are more fearful than other generations. A Harvard study showed that millennials are more likely to quit their jobs due to mental health problems. The increasing need in the world, ecological and social pressures have created a feeling of helplessness in many Gen Z as well. No restrictions on working hours, endless tasks, no social life during the pandemic have made many young people restless and tired. It is therefore important that we take the time to do something that we enjoy and that helps us relax.

One way to deal with pandemic stress is to invest time in staying healthy. Many have quit smoking and resorted to yoga to strengthen their immune systems. We have to take care of our bodies from the early teens. This period determines how our health will develop in the later years. The pandemic also demonstrated the importance of staying informed about health and health needs. So start living a healthy life at a young age.

Faux Down GhostPillow Review | Sleep Opolis

0

The Faux Down GhostPillow is a new offering from the bed-in-a-box giant GhostBed. GhostBed is known for its ultra-cooling mattresses, but the brand also makes a range of sleep products, including bed frames, sheets, toppers and, of course, pillows.

The Faux Down GhostPillow is made from what it sounds like: an artificial material designed to mimic the feel of down. Faux down pillows have a few advantages over real down pillows – they’re hypoallergenic and tend to be less expensive. However, it’s hard to do justice to the cozy, malleable, and breathable feel of down.

Let’s see how the GhostPillow does! Little time? Jump down to mine Summary.

Labor Day Offer! 30% discount on mattresses + 2 free pillows!

Faux down GhostPillow

The Faux Down GhostPillow has the soft, cozy feel of down with the added benefit of being hypoallergenic and antimicrobial!

Is Faux Down GhostPillow a Good Pillow for You?

Whether or not a pillow is right for you depends on factors such as your preferred sleeping position, pain, and personal preference. Check out some of my recommendations below.

Who should try the Faux Down GhostPillow

  • Side sleeper should really like this pillow. It has a medium-high loft that should provide adequate support for the neck.
  • I also find this pillow a good choice for Back sleeperwho should enjoy the comfortable neck contouring that they will feel with this pillow.
  • Hot sleepers should appreciate it how cool this pillow sleeps! Its filling is nice and breathable, and it has a cooling envelope.
  • Who is looking for a cruelty-free, hypoallergenic and down-like pillow should be happy about this down alternative pillow.

Faux Down Ghost PillowThe Faux Down GhostPillow in the Sleepopolis studio.

Who Should The Faux Down GhostPillow. not try it?

  • Stomach sleeper will likely find that this pillow is too tall for their needs. I would recommend you check out one of ours The best pillows for stomach sleepers.
  • Anyone looking for an adjustable pillow might want to look elsewhere. You cannot add or remove any filling to this pillow.
  • Sleeper with neck pain might want to look elsewhere. This pillow feels like down, which means it’s compressible and malleable and doesn’t have the ergonomic support these sleepers need. I would direct them to one of ours The best memory foam pillows.

How does the Faux Down GhostPillow feel?

Now that we know who likes this pillow and who doesn’t, let’s dive into the details for all of the people it might work for! I like to start with the feeling, as most sleepers have an idea of which feeling they prefer in a pillow, be it soft and squishy or firm and supportive. Before I share my opinion, I want to emphasize that firmness is subjective and depends on factors such as your preferred sleeping position and weight. For reference, I weigh about 110 pounds and sleep on my side.

Faux Down GhostPillow Strength

Before we start, I want to note that side sleepers generally need a firmer pillow, back sleepers a medium pillow, and stomach sleepers a soft pillow. These strength levels help promote a neutral spine alignment for any position. However, these strength levels depend on your personal preferences. For example, I’m a side sleeper, but I prefer a medium-firm rather than firm pillow.

I think this pillow has a lot to offer pleasant, medium-soft handle. It is soft and mushy (similar to down) and offers some nice depression. I definitely felt this pillow wrap around my head and neck, which provided moderate support. I think it’s a great option for most side and back sleepers who can get the support and comfort they need in this pillow. I would recommend it though those looking for an extra neck support opt for a firmer pillow, like the Memory Foam GhostPillow.

Ghost pillow loftThis pillow feels pleasantly medium soft.

Faux down GhostPillow Loft

Loft simply refers to the height of a pillow. A pillow can come in one of three lofts: High Loft (5 inches or higher), Medium Loft (3-5 inches), or Low Loft (2 inches or less). Typically, side sleepers need a high loft pillow, back sleepers need a medium loft pillow, and stomach sleepers need a low loft pillow. Similar to firmness, these loft levels help promote neutral alignment of the spine for any position.

The Faux Down GhostPillow has a 7 inch loft what makes it a High loft pillows. I’ve tested it in a number of positions and I’ll share my thoughts on how it felt in those positions below.

Side – I felt very comfortable sleeping on the side on this pillow! Personally, I’m a fan of soft feel pillows, so I really liked how malleable this pillow felt.

Return – I enjoyed sleeping on this pillow too! I liked how I felt the microfiber gel filling wrap around my neck. I definitely had a real cloud-like experience sleeping on this pillow.

Ghost pillow side sleeperI enjoyed sleeping on the side on the Faux Down GhostPillow.

Belly – This is the one position that didn’t feel as comfortable. I felt like my face was choked from all of the raised filling, and my neck felt like it was tilted out of line with my shoulders. I would direct stomach sleepers to a much lower loft pillow.

Under the arm – I think this pillow is a nice option under the arm! Most people who like a pillow under their arm want it to be soft and snug, and I would say this pillow is just the thing!

Between the legs – I also like this pillow as a between the legs option! It has enough loft to keep your knees from rubbing against each other. Personally, however, I use a cheaper pillow as an option between the legs as getting adequate support in this area isn’t as important.

As I mentioned above, I actually use this pillow on my bed! I’ve only had it for a short time, but I enjoy how it stays nice and fluffy and helps me stay cool every night!

What is the Faux Down GhostPillow made of?

So we know how this pillow feels, but why does it feel that way? The best way to show you is to discuss the materials.

Cover – The pillowcase consists of Ghost Ice fabric, also removable and with zip. This material consists of cotton velor. It also feels cool and is designed to dissipate body heat on both sides of the pillow.

Inner cover – There is a breathable inner cover under the removable zipper cover. It consists of 100% natural cotton and has a nice, smooth feel.

Editor’s note: I use this pillow at home and found it more comfortable to open the outer cover and just place my pillow case over the inner cover.

To fill – The pillow is filled with a Microfiber gel filling. It has a supple, soft feel that is very similar to down.

These materials are all hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant and antimicrobial.

My final thoughts on the Faux Down GhostPillow

Well, we have come to the end of my review. In summary, I think the Faux Down GhostPillow is a great cooling pad that should appeal Side sleepers and back sleepers. It has the soft and malleable feel of down, with the added benefits of being antimicrobial and hypoallergenic.

Local food truck owner OK after an accident with hit and run | Local news

0

Although one of its food trucks is out of order, Juanitos Street Tacos & More owner Jesus Pena-Santos said no one was seriously injured after being involved in a hit and run in Radcliff on Saturday night.

When Pena-Santos was towing a food truck in the back of his truck in the north lane of South Dixie Boulevard around 7:30 p.m., Pena-Santos was on the passenger side of his vehicle by a driver in a black Chevrolet Trailblazer near Waffle House in Radcliff hit. As a result of the collision, the food truck was separated from the truck and overturned.

Pena-Santos then lost control of his vehicle and drove across the median dividing traffic to the north and south, across the Burger King parking lot, and finally came to a halt in a wooded area on South Wilson Road.

Although he said he later visited Baptist Health Hardin for chest, shoulder and neck pain treatment, Pena-Santos said he did not suffer any serious injuries. He was examined and cleared on site by the Hardin County Emergency Medical Service.

“I want to thank God first for saving my life and everyone around me,” said Pena-Santos.

According to Radcliff Police Chief Jeff Cross, the driver of the second vehicle has not yet been identified. The case is being investigated, he said.

Pena-Santos said his truck, food truck and all equipment inside were completely destroyed as a result of the crash.

“It was like a tornado in there,” he said.

Juanitos Street Tacos & More owns and operates two additional food trucks, said Pena-Santos. The company also operates a stationary location in Radcliff Plaza.

Pena-Santos said the company is ordering a replacement trailer, which could take six to eight months.

“We’re going to lose money, but thank god no one was hurt,” he said.

Leslie Pena-Santos, chief planning officer for the company, said she hoped the accident could show motorists and other food truck operators the need to be careful in traffic.

“Like a semi-trailer, we can’t just hit the brakes and slow down,” she said. “… But we are grateful. Trucks and trailers can be replaced. Jesus cannot be replaced. “

Hidden Car Crash Injuries: Everything You Need To Know

0

Some injuries show no symptoms for days or even weeks, which can delay much-needed medical intervention and cause serious problems with insurance companies later.

Most of us breathe a sigh of relief when we don’t have to go to the hospital after a traffic accident, but we could still be seriously injured and not even know it. Some auto accident injury symptoms do not fully develop for hours, days, and even weeks, which in some cases can delay life-saving treatments.

Why Do Some Car Crash Injuries Stay Hidden?

Some car accident injuries remain hidden in the body immediately after a car accident due to the sudden surge of adrenaline that is designed to protect you from trauma and help you survive a life-threatening situation.

In addition, this extreme self-preservation reaction is often accompanied by a release of the “feel-good hormones”, also known as endorphins, which, together with the adrenaline rush, conceal pain and other symptoms of injury shortly after the accident. Hiding your symptoms of injury is your body’s way of ensuring your survival in these critical moments.

Types of hidden injuries after a car accident

Here are the most common types of delayed symptom injuries that can occur after a car accident.

Soft tissue injuries

Soft tissue injuries are the most common type of hidden injury after a car accident. These injuries, which include strains, sprains, bruises, and damage to muscles and ligaments, usually take hours or days for symptoms to fully manifest. Because of this, post-accident pain can occur a few days after the incident.

Whiplash

According to Mayo Clinic researchers, most spinal cord injuries are caused by car accidents, which is why medical professionals often want to know if you’ve been involved in an accident if you develop persistent back or neck pain. The main cause of neck and back pain after a traffic accident is whiplash, or the abrupt and violent back and forth movement of the body when your car hits or stops abruptly.

Whiplash symptoms often take days, if not weeks, to show, but neck injuries require immediate medical attention because, like brain trauma, they can be fatal. Other whiplash-related injuries that require immediate medical attention include cervical spine dislocations and severe disc injuries.

Concussions / TBIs

Concussions, also known as mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBIs), can easily go under the radar. Some concussion symptoms can take days to weeks to show up. Moderate to severe TBI rarely goes unnoticed, but it kills about 50,000 people and makes over 80,000 people disabled each year.

The most common symptoms of a concussion are unconsciousness, delayed headaches, personality changes, unexplained fatigue, memory and concentration problems, altered sense of smell or taste, problems with vision and hearing, etc.

TBI can be associated with persistent exhaustion after the accident. So, if you sleep too much in the days after the accident, get a medical check-up. If left untreated, some concussions can cause internal bleeding and brain swelling, which can be fatal.

Internal bleeding

Internal bleeding is another car accident injury that can go unnoticed for up to three days after the accident. Internal bleeding requires emergency care as it can often lead to death. The main reason internal bleeding can be hidden for several days is because there are no visible symptoms. Subtle symptoms like pain, nausea, fatigue, and unexplained bruising can be signs of internal bleeding.

Internal bleeding is often associated with the formation of blood clots. Blood clots can get to the lungs, heart, or brain and cause life-threatening obstruction, permanent organ damage, or death. When they reach the legs, blood clots can cause a serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which, without early intervention, can lead to pulmonary embolism.

Abdominal pain is also a tell-tale sign of internal bleeding that can be caused by the seat belt (see what is known as seat belt syndrome). However, not all abdominal pain is associated with internal bleeding – this type of pain can only be soft tissue damage, but regardless of the cause, you will receive emergency treatment.

Broken bones

Fractures after car accidents often go unnoticed because many accident victims believe that nothing is wrong as long as they can use the broken limb. If the fracture is minor, you may not even notice the pain, but all fractures require immediate medical attention as they can lead to infection or permanent deformity.

Some of the most common signs and symptoms of a broken bone are:

· Cracking sound when the bone breaks.

· Pain, swelling, tenderness, and bruising around the affected area

· The affected area may look deformed

· In extreme cases, the broken bone can protrude through the skin

Injuries to the spine

Spinal cord injuries can go unnoticed for up to eight days after the car accident, but if left untreated, they can lead to long-term disabilities such as partial or total paralysis. Serious spine injury can also result in death, so immediate medical attention is required. Look for subtle symptoms such as tingling and numbness, loss of sensitivity, problems with coordination and movement, and general weakness.

To summarize it

There are no two identical car accidents or two identical physical reactions to the shock and trauma of a car accident. Some injuries show no symptoms for days or even weeks, which can delay much-needed medical intervention and cause serious problems with insurance companies later.

Unless you have a seasoned personal injury attorney like John Foy & Associates, who has dedicated his career to helping car accident victims get back on their feet, it would be incredibly difficult to prove to an insurer the new symptoms and injuries are associated with the same accident.

Even if you don’t experience pain or other symptoms of injury after an accident, you should see a doctor immediately to have any possible injuries assessed.

Can a Chiropractor Help With Sciatic Nerve Pain

Do Chiropractors Help With Sciatica Nerve Pain?

Chiropractors are experts in many fields. They offer relief for chronic pain, car accident injuries, and other ailments. Can this be true of sciatic nerve pain too? Can a chiropractor help with sciatic nerve pain?

Clinical medicine or medical specialties have their way of treating diseases and disorders in the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, and basically the whole human body. However, in some cases, chiropractic treatment techniques are quite enough to get you back at your feet.

Can chiropractors help with sciatica and relieve pain or help reduce the pain?

Many people who have had back surgery or those suffering from chronic back problems find that a visit to the chiropractor is helpful in relieving their symptoms and improving their quality of life.

How Does Sciatica Affect You?

The sciatic nerve is not a condition as it is actually what causes the pain. Since the sciatic nerve covers a large area of the body, it can become irritated a lot easier than other nerves.

The pain caused by sciatica can range from somewhat mild to very intense as it is caused by a compressed nerve in the lower spine.

The likelihood of being affected by sciatica is around 40% in a lifetime, and if you are one of those individuals, you understand how annoying and painful it can be.

There is a misconception that sciatica only occurs in the back. Sciatica, however, can affect any part of the body.

The sciatic nerve passes through the low back, the buttocks, and then the legs, ending just below the knee, and depending on where the irritation occurs. Pain may radiate from any of these areas.

Depending on where the irritation exists along the sciatic nerve, the pain may develop anywhere along the nerve and may be dulled with pain medications.

What Are the Causes of Sciatica?

An injured disc commonly aggravates sciatica due to the inflammation that generally occurs once it ruptures or bulges. It is common for pain to be localized to one side of the body when inflammation and swelling are present.

Sciatica pain is generally experienced as a shooting wave. As a result of this swelling, you may experience pain along your sciatic nerve that shoots in waves along one side of your body.

Aside from spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease, other common causes of sciatic pain include spondylolisthesis (where one lower vertebra slips forward onto the one beneath it).

In pregnancy, there is an increased amount of physical stress on the body, resulting in women experiencing sciatica for the first time. Chiropractic treatment can help relieve this stress. Women’s sciatic nerve runs underneath the uterus, which can cause pain and discomfort as the growing baby places pressure on it.

A pregnant woman experiencing back pain may experience sciatica. Over two-thirds of pregnant women experience back pain while they are pregnant.

A larger fetus increases the pressure on the sciatic nerve, which promotes sciatica later in pregnancy.

Several factors can contribute to sciatica, such as being overweight, not exercising frequently, wearing high heels, or sleeping on a mattress that is too soft.

Sciatica may have many causes, but the common characteristic is always that it results in severe pain.

Sciatica Symptoms and Signs: How Does It Affect Me?

Having the pain radiate down the back (lumbar) of the leg, down the buttock, and down the back of the calf is enough to recognize the symptoms of sciatica. A tingling, burning sensation called paresthesia can accompany this pattern on one side of the body.

If it’s more severe, the pain may feel like a jolt or a mild, dull pain. There is a spectrum of pain associated with sciatica, so don’t dismiss it because it isn’t extreme. You may have sciatica if you feel pain radiating from your legs.

Nerve irritation and tingling or pins and needles sensations in the foot are sometimes felt with sciatica. Symptoms may include leg numbness, muscle weakness, discomfort when standing, difficulty breathing, and anxiety.

  • Spinal stenosis (spinal canal narrowing in the lower spine)
  • Piriformis syndrome (piriformis muscle spasms or tightness)
  • Degenerative disc disease (impacting the vertebral discs)
  • Spondylolisthesis (this is caused by one vertebra slipping forward over another one)
  • Pregnancy (stresses the spine by adding pressure)
  • Wear and tear on the lower spine (due to age, obesity, or poor alignment)

How Is Sciatica Treated Through Chiropractic Center Treatments?

A chiropractor’s primary treatment for back and neck pain is a procedure known as “back and neck cracking.”. The chiropractic adjustment is certainly one method chiropractors use to treat sciatica, but they use a variety of other strategies, as well:

Pain Relief Creams – to relieve pain

Ice/Cold Therapy – To reduce inflammation

Ultrasound – By generating gentle heat through sound waves, the pain is relieved while circulation is increased, and muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain are reduced.

TENS Unit – Muscle contraction machines apply an electrical current to reduce muscle spasms and reduce pain

Spinal Manipulations / Manual therapiesChiropractic care is centered on restoring proper movement to the spine through manipulation and restoring alignment to the vertebrae that have become subluxated.

Physical Therapy or Exercising and Stretching – By establishing these, you’re ensuring the effectiveness of your treatment, even after the treatment is over.

Spinal Decompression Therapy – In addition to helping to reduce sciatica caused by spinal disc herniation, spinal decompression therapy can also give great results.

Is a doctor of chiropractic a good treatment option for folks suffering from sciatica and need sciatica pain relief?  Here are detailed information about chiropractic techniques that a chiropractor for sciatica do to help lessen sciatica nerve pain based on how sciatica is caused:

Diagnosing Sciatica Correctly

Restricted spinal movement leads to pain and reduced function, a fact firmly established in chiropractic care. Upon examination by a chiropractor, your medical history is reviewed to determine the cause of your sciatic pain. Chiropractic treatment promotes the body’s ability to heal itself without drugs or surgery (non-invasive).

Chiropractor Massage Therapy

Sciatica pain can be relieved significantly with a chiropractic-type massage. Natural painkillers are released during deep muscle relaxation and the release of endorphins. Massages at spas may help to relax muscles and release tension, but chiropractic massages are more targeted at soothing and healing sciatica. Your chiropractor has extensive knowledge of the whole musculoskeletal system. In order to kick-start the healing process, they know when and where to apply pressure.

Cold and Heat Therapy

Chiropractors can use cold and heat therapy alternately to soothe sciatica pain quickly. Tight muscles can be loosened and the agony dulled by heat. It helps ease inflammation symptoms by slowing down the blood flow. It is the chiropractor’s role to identify which treatment is right for you and to determine whether to alternate between the two.

Ultrasound and Other Therapies

Sound waves emit gentle heat that penetrates deep into tissues, which is what ultrasound therapy does. As a result, it can help better circulation (which speeds up the healing process), reduce cramping, swelling, and muscle spasms. As an alternative method of treating sciatica pain, chiropractors may also use low-level laser therapy. By reducing swelling or edema, pain, and irritation, it achieves a faster healing process. Additionally, chiropractic treatments can take advantage of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) units. The device is a battery-powered nerve stimulation device that helps relax muscle spasms, releases painkillers, and increases endorphins.

Chiropractic Adjustments (Spinal Manipulation)

Chiropractic manipulations or spinal adjustments can restore the disc to its original position and relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve caused by a herniated disc. During adjustments, spinal movement may be improved as well as misaligned discs can be corrected. It consists of rapid or slow thrusts alternating with minimal force and gentle pressure. In this way, the chiropractor can avoid pressing on the sciatic nerve by gently moving the vertebrae in the lower back. By doing so, the pain will reduce, and nerve signals will flow freely again. Chiropractic manipulations can also help to soothe muscle spasms, thus providing long-term relief.

Decompression of the Spinal Column

Spinal discs can become thinner and dry out naturally over time, which can cause nerve compression and pinched nerves. Spinal decompression is a technique chiropractors use to relieve the nerve compression associated with sciatica. Spine lengthening techniques may be employed as well as the enhancement of space between vertebrae.

Exercises for Chiropractic Care

Sciatica pain can be aggravated when you move in a particular way. A chiropractor, however, will recommend exercises for sciatica that not only avoid the aggravation of the nerve they will also help release the pressure caused by inflamed and tight muscles. You can perform home stretching programs as part of those exercises. Sciatica pain can also be relieved by yoga. Stretching the piriformis can help to release pressure and ease irritations around the nerve, as can the reclining pigeon pose.

Changes in Lifestyle

Chiropractors examine every aspect of your life. To protect the sciatic nerve, your chiropractor may recommend a different way for you to stand, sit, sleep, or lift. To keep the disc in place, follow this guide to strengthen the back muscles. It is critical to strengthen the back so that the sciatic nerve will be less likely to be compressed once again by slipped discs. The benefits of chiropractic care, therefore, extend to both short-term and long-term pain relief.

Sciatica patients who have leg pain don’t wait for it to worsen. Seek a primary care physician, a health care personnel, or the nearest chiropractor for them to correctly identify the trigger points and can give you proper alignment for your spinal cord and/or treat the underlying cause.

What’s new: Sisters help their clients keep fit | Local news

Susan Black and Terri Reiff believe stretching is the missing link in healthcare.

“Health care is about everything on the body except stretching,” said Black. “Everyone knows you have to stretch – but nobody does; or they don’t do it enough; or they do it wrong. It is really something that everyone needs. “

Especially after a month of a pandemic that left many Americans moving much less, she said.

“Sitting is the new smoking,” she says. “It leads to diabetes and can affect the circulatory system – your lungs and heart.”

If stagnation and stiffness are the disease, the Schwarzen and Rieff have the cure. The sisters and business associates opened the Greenville Stretch Zone on E. Fire Tower Road in May 1909 in the Covengton Shops between Charles and Arlington.

Together, the sisters own franchises in Atlanta, Hilton Head, and Nashville, so they know a thing or two about stretching.

People get stiff when they don’t exercise and then develop pain when they move again, Black said.

“Whether it’s neck pain when you sit at your desk all day or you’re on your cell phone all the time, we see the new humpback neck. We can fix these problems. If you don’t fix them, it can lead to lifelong problems, ”she said.

Black and Reiff said the timing was perfect to move the Greenville Stretch Zone to a new location.

“Greenville is growing fast and we feel like we got in at just the right time,” said Reiff.

She was introduced to the Stretch Zone almost four years ago when she was facing back surgery. Therapists worked with her at special tables until she was limber and fit.

“Somebody recommended it to me. Four or five stretches after that – I haven’t had any back surgery or back problems since, ”said Reiff.

Stretch Zone founder Jorden Gold developed the patented program after stretching his grandfather, who couldn’t get out of bed, Reiff said. After several sessions, he finally danced at the wedding of his great-great-grandson.

Gold realized that “every grandpa in the world needs to be stretched,” Reiff said.

Gold developed and patented the Stretch Zone program over two decades before opening its first store in 2015. Today there are more than 110 locations in 22 states.

Sold by the company and its philosophy, Reiff began selling the 11 gyms she owned and bought her first franchise.

“The greatest thing is the product,” she says. “There is nothing like it. Someone once asked me, ‘Are you afraid that another stretch course is coming to Greenville?’ I said to her: ‘No, because ours is very different.’

“We have a patented belt and table system that allows us to secure the customer so we can isolate and immobilize the area we are working on,” said Black. “What sets us apart are the straps and their position on the table. We can anchor the hips completely. We can reach a completely different clientele who would benefit from stretching – now more than ever. “

Customers range from young and sporty to older and frail.

“People get up from the table and immediately feel better,” said Black. “That’s why we’re giving away our first section for free – because we want you to try it out and see how good we are at what we do.”

“We do all the work,” added Reiff.

Stretch Zone employees, so-called stretch practitioners, receive one to two weeks of intensive training and have to pass a rigorous test.

“Our expertise is in hiring the right people,” said Black.

New features appear on Tuesdays to highlight people, places, and events.

Neck pain associated with migraines does not necessarily mean cervical dysfunction

0

(HealthDay) – Neck pain doesn’t necessarily indicate cervical musculoskeletal dysfunction in migraines, according to a study recently published online in Headache.

Zhiqi Liang of the University of Queensland in St. Lucia, Australia, and colleagues conducted a single-blind cross-sectional study with 124 migraineurs (106 with episodic migraines; 18 with chronic migraines), 32 healthy controls, and 21. by people with idiopathic neck pain. Participants were assessed with a series of measurements for cervical range of motion and accuracy, segmental joint dysfunction, and neuromuscular and sensorimotor function.

The researchers identified two different clusters of cervical musculoskeletal function: a neck function similar to that in healthy controls and a neck dysfunction similar to that in people with neck pain (108 and 69 people, respectively). Of the subjects with migraines, 76 (62 with and 14 without neck pain) had normal cervical musculoskeletal function and 48 with neck pain had cervical dysfunction comparable to neck disease. No association between musculoskeletal dysfunction and hypersensitivity or symptoms of pain was observed during the test.

“This underscores the need for an individualized, qualified assessment of cervical musculoskeletal function in order to differentiate between a central and a peripheral origin of neck pain or a combination of both,” the authors write. “One should not rely solely on pain or tenderness, which often reflects the general hypersensitivity to pain that is common in those with migraines.”
