Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is facing three selection headaches ahead of his team’s crucial battle against Roma on Saturday.
While Napoli have mathematically secured the Scudetto title on Thursday, six clubs are still battling for the three remaining Champions League spots, and ironically, they’re all set for direct clashes this weekend.
The Nerazzurri will take the trip to the Eternal City and battle it out with Jose Mourinho’s men at the Olimpico Stadium.
But with a Champions League clash against Milan awaiting them on Wednesday, Inter will have to rotate their starting formation.
According to Sky Sport via FcInterNews, Inzaghi still has some dilemmas when it comes to selecting his lineup for Saturday’s encounter against Roma.
First, the manager must choose between Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij at the back. Presumably, Alessandro Bastoni and Matteo Darmian have locked up their spots in the back-three.
The second headache is in midfield where Nicolò Barella will surely start, but the manager will have to choose two between Marcelo Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to accompany the Italian.
Finally, Inzaghi will have to decide which Argentine striker to start alongside Romelu Lukaku. As the source tells it, Joaquin Correa appears to be the favorite ahead of his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.
The highly-anticipated battle will kick off tomorrow at 6:00 CET. Inter currently sit 4th in the table on the back of a three-match winning streak. On the other hand, Roma have dropped to 7th, but they remain a couple points behind the Nerazzurri.
